Fall 2016-scores for week 14

Thanks to Andrew for hosting the last league night of the season!  Final scores are up here.  Surprising nobody, Adam managed to take the season champ spot with a 10 point lead over Jack, and a 14 point lead over Barry.  He also managed to maintain over 80% on the season, which is a very solid average.  It also explains why he’s sitting in the lead when you include the handicap in the calculation, which was never intended to be impossible, just more difficult.  We’ve decided to add a new rule however, saying that you can’t win both trophies, so the Pinball Wizard trophy goes to Chris Draper, who was only 3 points behind Adam in this race!  Both Adam and Chris earn a replay into next season.

On the Most Improved front, Andrew made a late season push for the trophy, but in the end couldn’t pass Chris Frolic, who takes it with a 12% improvement.  He also wins a replay into next season.

A reminder that playoffs are this Sunday at Jim’s place.  The format will be the same match play format we used in the summer, and based on feedback, we’re going to use the same divisional split we used there.  The format will be:

  • Rounds 1-7: Everyone plays everyone else
  • Rounds 8-17: A division players keep going, B division splits off to a separate tournament (with records reset)
  • 4 game final for the top 4 in A and B

The usual rules for division eligibility and minimums apply.  We need a minimum of 8 to run B, so as long as we have 16 or more players, we’ll split divisions roughly 50/50.

Also, a reminder that we’re going to be doing the end of the year draw on Sunday, including the grand prize of a pinball machine!  You’ll have an entry in the drum for each week you were out, and there are some other prizes besides the big one.  You don’t need to be present to win, but it’d be much better if you were, so come on out, and have a good time at playoffs.  Even if you haven’t been out this season at all, it’s an open tournament.

See everyone on Sunday!

fall 2016-scores for week 13

Thanks to Adam for hosting this week!  The building continues to impress, and there was plenty of food, space and games for everyone!  Scores are up here, and it looks like Adam has the season locked, with or without the handicap.  Frolic also continues to stay in the lead for most improved.

Next week we wrap the regular season at Andrew’s place, and then the following Sunday is playoffs at Jim’s place to wrap up 2016.  Have a great week everyone!

Fall 2016-Scores for week 12

Thanks to Kim for hosting this week!  Scores are up on the PAPA site, and we’re down to the last couple of weeks for the season.  Adam looks to have the season locked up, possibly even when the handicaps are taken into account.  An 11 also kept Chris Frolic in the lead for Most Improved.

Next Monday we’re back up to Adam’s place-have a great week everyone!

Fall 2016-scores for week 11

Thanks to Luch for hosting this week!  Scores are up in the usual place, and Adam is continuing to dominate the season both with and without the handicaps taken into account.  Chris Frolic also remains at the top of the Most Improved race, despite missing the last couple of weeks.

Some of you may have heard of the Ultimate Stern Pinball fan contest, which has just gone into the semi-finals.  The grand (and only) prize is a brand new Stern premium, and both Adam and Nick have made the final 20.  Go to http://www.ultimatesternpinballfan.com/ to cast your vote, and help bring a new game back up to TOPL!

Next week we’re back out to Kim’s place-hope to see everyone there!

Also my entry is a league effort!  Jim was gracious enough to let me borrow his Transformers machine for the shot and David Newman was the one who actually took the photo for me!  So thanks for Jim and Newman for the help in making this happen!

So do it for the League, Vote for me!   Or Nick 🙂

It’s very much appreciated!

Fall 2016-Scores for week 10

Thanks to everyone who made it out tonight!  Scores are up on the PAPA site, and Adam is still maintaining a slim lead over Barry and Jack.  Adam is also leading even when you consider Handicaps, which is quite impressive, while Chris Frolic maintains his lead for Most Improved.

Next week we’re at Luch’s place-have a great week everyone!

Fall 2016-scores for week 9

Thanks to Josh for hosting this week (and keeping the attack dog at bay)!  Scores are up on the PAPA site, and Adam has managed to build on his season lead over Barry.  He and Frolic are also tied for the handicap points lead, but Frolic is still holding on to Most Improved despite a 5 this week.

Next week we’re out to my place in Mississauga.  Have a great week everyone!

Fall 2016-Scores for week 8

Thanks to Adam for hosting last night (and dealing with the scores)!  Despite it being Halloween, we still had 20 people out to play.  Scores are up on the PAPA site.  It looks like Adam and Barry have pulled ahead of Jack, but Chris Frolic is still leading the most improved and handicap races.

Next week we’re at Josh’s place.  I’ve also got the last weeks for this season up on Facebook and Yahoo, including the playoffs for Dec 18th at Jim’s, so mark your calendars.  See everyone next week!

fall 2016-Scores for week 7

Thanks to Scott and the rest of the bluffs crew for another great week.  The lineup there always seems to be changing, and it sounds like it’s about to get more extensive!  We also had one of the largest league night crowds ever last night, with 40 players, including 4 new players.  Scores for this week are up in the usual place.  Adam, Jack and Barry are all pretty close for the lead, while Chris Frolic is leading both the most improved and handicap races.

Next week, as Adam already published, there’ll still be a league night for Halloween at Adam’s place in Keswick.  Don’t sweat it if you can’t make it-this is the reason you can have 3 dropped weeks in a season after all.  In either case, have a great week, and a happy Halloween!

Fall 2016-scores for week 6

Thanks to Andrew for hosting a packed house this week for an unusually warm October.  Scores are up on the PAPA site, and it’s still early enough that anyone could take the season.  Frolic continues to lead most improved, and Barry continues to lead the handicap race.

Next week we’re back out to the Bluff’s to play Scott’s collection of games.  See everyone there!
