Hi ToPL,
We’ve all been through a challenging year and a half without league pinball and tournaments, yet as more people get vaccinated, the return to pinball appears to be on the horizon.
As many of you know, the IFPA has set August 1st as when the IFPA will resume sanctioning tournaments and events, and some of our members have inquired about when our own league activities might resume.
The situation in Ontario is still such that we are not yet able to provide a timeline. While Myles, Mike, and myself have been evaluating a variety of strategies and requirements for when we are able to resume league activities, Provincial re-opening phases don’t even yet cover the group size and social conditions that our activities operate in. The nature of our activities, the large social groups, and the size of the locations we play at, require a more comprehensive consideration of risk regarding COVID than Provincial guidelines currently cover.
Compromising the safety of our members, our hosts, and the safety of the people you go home to isn’t worth jumping the gun. We’re as eager as you are to get back to ToPL league nights as soon as it is safe and responsible to do so.
As things progress in Ontario, as vaccination numbers increase and we get a clearer picture of the risks of emerging COVID variants, we will update the ToPL community.
Stay tuned!

Happy New Year!…
Happy New Year TOPL members!
2021 is hopefully going to be a better year for pinball than 2020 was.?
Here’s a quick update if you were involved in the ToPL Spring Season of 2020 on what has happened and what will be happening going forward:
Results for the first 9 weeks of the 2020 Spring Season, before league activities were suspended due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, have been submitted to the IFPA, and WPPR’s awarded for 2020. Check the IFPA website for results.
When it is safe and appropriate to responsibly resume league activities, the season will continue from week 10 to it’s conclusion in week 13 and then playoffs.
The results from weeks 10 through 13 will be credited with WPPR points when the season is concluded.
The ToPL Leadership team decided to submit results to the IFPA while technically in the midst of a season so as to have members realize WPPR’s earned in 2020. With so few WPPR’s being awarded in 2020 due to COVID, these points should prove valuable in the standings.
If you have any questions please contact us.
We hope you are all doing well and please stay safe!

Happy Holidays!…
Merry Christmas! Happy Chanukah! Happy Kwanzaa! Happy Festivus! Whichever you celebrate, we hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
While we’ve all had a very challenging year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and greatly missed getting together every week with this amazing group, we hope for the best for all in the New Year! We hope that COVID vaccinations can happen as swiftly as possible and that we can resume ToPL as soon as it’s safe and responsible to do so.
ReplayFX & Pinburgh…
Hey folks,
Some sad and disappointing news today from the ReplayFX Foundation that runs the Pinburgh tournament in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the ReplayFX Foundation is having to shut down their operations for the foreseeable future.
While other tournaments will certainly happen once the risk of COVID is mitigated, Pinburgh was special, and we hope that it might someday happen again.
Here’s the announcement from Kevin and Mark:

We all look forward to when we can get together and play league and tournament pinball again. Please take care of yourselves and others by wearing masks, washing hands regularly, and keeping distance from others. If you haven’t already, please consider installing the COVID Alert app on your phone. Every little bit helps to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

ToPL Winter 2020 Season Suspended due to COVID-19…
The Toronto Pinball League is suspending the Winter 2020 Season until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The nature of pinball and league activity is that of hands on machines and close proximity to a large group of people. The conditions at our league activities are exactly what York Region Public Health, Health Canada, and the WHO are recommending against attending to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) during this declared global pandemic.
The ToPL Leadership Team looks forward to getting back to league play as soon as it is deemed safe, appropriate, and responsible to do so.
Stay tuned,
